My Fountain Pen Journey had already taught me so much about these wonderful writing instruments.
One thing that I've discovered is that a "bad" pen often only needs some minor tweaking to make it a great pen.
I've developed a real interest in Pelikan fountain pens, and I've already bought quite a few vintage Pelikan fountain pens.
The Pelikan M100 (fine nib) here is a great little pen, but it was scratchy. So, with the aid of a loupe I found that the tines were quite badly misaligned.
After a few minutes of adjustment and a few passes on some 12000 grit wet and dry paper, this pen now writes smoothly and it's much wetter and pleasurable to write with.
This was a relatively inexpensive purchase from eBay, so it's great to be able to get a vintage fountain pen back to writing well, and with very little effort!
