Venvstas D'art fountain pen - Update

I've been using my Venvstas D'art fountain pen for a few weeks now.
My video review of this pen is on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/3djG8EQQSI4

When I pre-ordered this pen earlier in 2018, I took a chance and ordered the matching pen stand for this pen for a small additional fee. These stands are still being manufactured and quite honestly I don't see any need for one now, so I've cancelled the order for the pen stand.

However, the email correspondence I've had with Venvstas (which has been very helpful, may I add) raised an interesting point: the D'art has already been redesigned. I'm not sure how, but I've tried to glean some details from the email that Venvstas sent to me today.
Here's a transcript of the email:

Dear Rob,

Yes, we can, the stands are to be sent in 10 days, if you want to wait a bit more, we will send it but they are already in production, we got a delay with them as the pen has been slightly re-designed to fit to different types of writing styles and feedback from the first series, is not that we have forgotten, so if you still want the stand you're on the list and we will send it. Otherwise, of course we can re-found. The new pen will be thinner and there's a new version that has a reverse profile, this is long to explain, but people just do no write as we think they should. Not because we know, but because calligraphy is not something that's taught nor part of normal education.

Let us know.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

So, the D'art has been redesigned.
Hopefully "version 2" will be easier to hold and write with.
If it wasn't for the excellent nib, I'd struggle to really recommend the D'art because it is so difficult and uncomfortable to hold.
Additionally, I'm finding that the nib dries out relatively quickly unless the pen is used at least every two days.

I do like the aesthetics of the pen, though, as it really is quite unusual.
